Paddling

Bent at the waist.
Doubled over.
Glistening with sweat.
Water dripping all over my face.
The paddle swings again. The screams echo in my ears.
I don’t know how much longer I can take this.
I pray it’s over soon.
Yes... thank God... the finish line!
Canoeing is so stressful.
